There has been a trend where fraudsters attempt to deceive vulnerable individuals by persuading them over the phone to disclose details of their debit/credit cards or bank accounts. This is done with the intention of committing cyber crimes. Victims of such communications often unknowingly become involved in scams where individuals impersonate employees of financial institutions. Consequently, their confidential information is compromised and subsequently exploited by these fraudsters on e-commerce and m-commerce platforms.
